The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of an advanced performance system on the tribological behavior of brake pad material using a specially designed brake pad tester system following standard SAE J-661. The tribological behavior and friction and wear characteristics of the organic brake pad samples were evaluated. During braking tests, the samples, in contact with a cast iron disk, were studied at different disc speeds, temperatures, and braking cycles under a constant pressure. In order to understand the friction and wear behavior, the unworn surfaces, worn surfaces, and wear debris were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX). Furthermore, the surface characteristics and differences in the wear modes of the brake pad samples were examined. Wear debris was permitted to deform the brake pad surfaces, leading to friction layers and enabling the estimation of the friction behavior of the brake pads. The results showed that the best friction–wear behavior was obtained with lower braking cycles at low speeds and temperature. Thus, the newly developed brake pad tester system proved very effective in evaluating the performance of the brake pad samples. 相似文献

Understanding friction behavior of human skin is indispensable in order to optimize surfaces and materials in contact with the skin. The coefficient of friction (COF) for different materials contacting against the skin is mainly influenced by the nature of the materials, mechanical contact parameters, and physiological skin conditions. The aim of the present research work was to study the grip effect of two different polymeric materials by producing different textured patterns using a 3D printing microfabrication technique and a replication technique. It was found that under the same contact conditions, a difference in the friction amplitude exists between the two different polymeric materials and that positive texturing, which consists of high relief or protrusions, showed higher COFs than negative texturing, consisting of low relief, holes, or dimples, which showed a decrease in friction as the textured pattern area density increased. 相似文献

In this study, we present a simulation study of artificial field-aligned irregularities (AFAI) to calculate the scattering coefficient considering a Gaussian autocorrelation function for the wave number spectrum of the density fluctuation. By analyzing variations in the scattering coefficient under different ionospheric backgrounds, the optimal range of the heating frequency was found, which is about 0.9–1 times the critical frequency of the F2 layer. This is especially noticeable as when the heating frequency varies from 0.5 times to 0.9 times of the critical frequency, the scattering coefficient increases by 6.8–16.2 dB. These results should be useful for optimizing the heating frequency in the future artificial field-aligned scattering (AFAS) transmission applications at middle and low latitudes. 相似文献

In this paper, the nonreciprocal properties of a novel kind of 1D magnetized plasma photonic crystals(MPPCs) with the Fibonacci sequence are investigated. The isolation of the proposed 1D MPPCs is also used to analyze the nonreciprocal properties. Compared to the conventional 1D MPPCs with periodic structure, the nonreciprocal performance can be significantly improved.The effects of several parameters of the proposed 1D MPPCs on the nonreciprocal properties are studied by the transfer matrix method, which includes the incident angle, order of the Fibonacci sequence, plasma frequency, plasma cyclotron frequency and plasma filling factor. The obtained results show that the nonreciprocal propagation properties can be improved by increasing the values of the plasma cyclotron frequency and incident angle, but they will worsen by blindly increasing the order of the Fibonacci sequence, plasma frequency and filling factor of plasma.The peaks of transmittance also are obviously reduced. In addition, the value of isolation will increase with increasing the incident angle, order of Fibonacci sequence, plasma frequency and plasma filling factor. However, when the plasma cyclotron frequency is increased, the value of isolation will be increased at lower frequencies, but is almost unchanged at higher frequencies. 相似文献

In this study, the analysis of nonlinear stability with viscoelastic ferromagnetic fluids as working media is performed by finite-amplitude perturbations. The solution of the resulting nonautonomous system of the Lorenz model (generalized Khayat–Lorenz model of four modes) is obtained numerically to measure the amount of heat transport. The effects of elastic parameters, Prandtl number, modulation parameters, buoyancy magnetic parameter, and nonbuoyancy magnetic parameter on heat transport are studied. Heat transport is quantified through the average Nusselt number, which is determined by solving the scaled Lorenz model. As limiting cases of the study, the results of Newtonian, Maxwell, Rivlin–Ericksen fluids are determined. The results obtained have been presented graphically. 相似文献

Control charts for monitoring the coefficient of variation (γ) are useful for processes with an inconsistent mean (μ) and a standard deviation (σ) which changes with μ, by monitoring the consistency in the ratio σ over μ. The synthetic-γ chart is one of the charts proposed to monitor γ, and its attractiveness lie in waiting until a second point to fall outside the control limits before a decision is made. However, existing synthetic-γ charts do not differentiate between the points falling outside the upper control limit (UCL) and lower control limit (LCL). Hence, this paper proposes a side-sensitive synthetic-γ chart, where successive nonconforming samples must either fall above the UCL or below the LCL. Formulae to compute the average run length (ARL), the standard deviation of the run length (SDRL) and expected average run length (EARL) are derived using the Markov chain approach, and the algorithms to obtain the optimal charting parameters are proposed. Subsequently, the optimal charting parameters, ARL, SDRL and EARL values for various numerical examples are shown. Comparisons show that the side-sensitive synthetic-γ chart consistently outperforms the existing synthetic-γ chart, especially for small shifts. The proposed chart also consistently outperforms the Shewhart-γ chart, while showing comparable or better performance than the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) chart for most shift sizes, except for very small shifts. A series of poly(acrylic acid-co-methylvinylketone–graft–sulfamethoxazole)(AVMDS) species was synthesized for drug carrier applications. The synthesis involved two steps: copolymerization of acrylic acid(AA) with methyl vinyl ketone(MVK) through the free radical route and subsequent grafting of the sulfamethoxazole (SMX) onto the copolymer via the Schiff base reaction of the primary amine of SMX with the carbonyl groups of the MVK units. The structures and properties of the materials were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR), X-ray diffraction(XRD), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). An in-vitro cytotoxicity test of the drug-carrier systems via MTT assay revealed no significant cytotoxic effect at concentrations up to 100?µg?·?ml?1. The dynamic release of SMX from these systems through a retro-imidation reaction (inverse Schiff base reaction) was investigated in depth, where the diffusion through the polymer matrix, the enhancement of the water solubility of SMX, the influence of the initial drug concentration, the pH of the medium, and the effect of the degree of swelling of the polymer matrix on the release dynamics were evaluated. The AVMGS4 and AVMGS1 drug carrier systems containing 3.58 and 1.18?wt% of SMX were the best performing systems. 相似文献

The research of hydrogen fuel internal combustion engine (HICE) had great significance facing the challenges of energy and environmental problems. Based on the detailed hydrogen-air reaction mechanism, the pre-mix model of CHEMKIN-Pro software was selected to simplify the detailed mechanism GRI-3.0. The most important elements and reactions was chose to construct framework mechanism firstly based on the sensitivity coefficient for H2O and NO formation, and additional elements and reactions were added to framework mechanism for complementing the oxidation path of N2 and H2. A simplified mechanism including 24-step elementary reaction was obtained and the laminar burning velocity calculated by this simplified mechanism matches well with the detailed mechanism in a wide range. This simplified mechanism was also applied in a CFD model which predicted the cylinder instantaneous pressure and NOx emission accurately within a large range of fuel air equivalent ratio.
